Meet Crann Órga, prounounced as it is spelled.
Crann Órga (Crann = Tree, Órga = Golden) is the Irish for “Golden Tree”.
This is a special Custom Croíture who is very close to my heart.
My very first and favourite school in Los Angeles asked me to create a School Mascot for them.
They chose all the surprise options and left me to create whatever I wanted.
I chose a golden, yellow cotton for Crann’s front, and a multi-coloured chiffon scarf for her back and ear. (I re-enforced the chiffon with a pillow insert fabric that was donated to me by my brother’s school after they made floor pillows for the Montessori rooms).
For Crann’s Oak leaf patch I traced around a leaf from our oldest Oak Tree here in Tipperary and then cut it out of green cotton fabric.
Her belly is purple cotton and orange fun fur.
She is stuffed with a polyester filling that was spritzed with lavender and rose oil.
I hope the student at the Fair Oaks Academy love her as much as I do. She was so much fun to make!
